The Group traces its roots to 1974, when Joe Whitter, a property developer in Jamaica and the United Kingdom for more than forty years, acquired roughly a thousand acres of mixed-use land at Ironshore. He saw that Montego Bay's growing east would need retail, office and residential space of a quality to match the hotels rising along what is now called the Elegant Corridor.
Under the leadership of Chief Executive Officer Angella Whitter, the Group continues that work: operating its flagship properties to a high standard, holding land for the right opportunity, and partnering selectively on new development.
